Hidden Falls is a 100-foot tiered cascade on Cascade Creek in Grand Teton National Park, near the eastern end of Cascade Canyon just west of Jenny Lake. Most accessible Grand Teton waterfall thanks to the Jenny Lake Boat Shuttle: take the boat across the lake, hike 0.6 mi to viewing platforms. Often combined with Inspiration Point (1 mi above falls, 400 ft more climb) for the classic Grand Teton day hike. One of the busiest tourist attractions in the park during summer — go early.
Hidden Falls is located on Cascade Creek, Grand Teton National Park in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The falls drop approximately 100 feet (30 m) near the eastern end of Cascade Canyon, and west of Jenny Lake. The easiest way to access the falls is by way of the Jenny Lake boat shuttle which goes from South Jenny Lake to the entrance of Cascade Canyon. From there it is a 1.2-mile (1.9 km) roundtrip hike along the Cascade Canyon Trail to viewing points for the falls. Another option is to hike 5.2 miles (8.4 km) roundtrip from South Jenny Lake on the Jenny Lake Trail. During the summer vacation period, Hidden Falls is one of the busiest tourist attractions in Grand Teton National Park.
The trail
1.2 miles each way, rated easy with 200 feet of elevation gain. South Jenny Lake parking. Take the Jenny Lake Boat Shuttle across to the west shore ($20 round-trip), then 0.6 mi trail each way. Or hike 2.6 mi each way via the Jenny Lake Loop Trail (no boat).
Is the water flowing right now?
Most waterfall sites don't tell you this. The waterfall itself is almost never gauged, but a USGS streamgage in the same watershed can tell you whether snowmelt has started, peaked, or run dry.
