Lye Brook Falls is a 125-foot horsetail cascade on Lye Brook inside the 15,680-acre Lye Brook Wilderness — the closest big waterfall to Bennington, VT. The 4.6-mile out-and-back is well-marked with blue blazes through quiet shaded forest, with the final climb steepening as you approach the base. Several muddy stretches stay wet year-round, so good shoes matter. Best in spring (snowmelt) and after autumn rains.
