Redrock Falls is a 25-foot multi-tier cascade on Swiftcurrent Creek in the Many Glacier section of Glacier National Park, tumbling over the namesake reddish argillite ledges between Redrock Lake and Bullhead Lake. The 3.6-mile round-trip from Swiftcurrent Pass Trailhead is one of the easiest waterfall hikes in the park — only 230 ft of elevation gain — and passes Fishercap Lake and Redrock Lake, both famous for moose sightings. Many Glacier Road construction has limited access through 2026; check NPS before driving up.
The trail
3.6 miles each way, rated easy with 230 feet of elevation gain. Swiftcurrent Pass Trailhead at the far end of Many Glacier Hotel parking lot. Glacier NP entrance fee $35/vehicle. Timed-entry vehicle reservation may be required for Many Glacier in peak season.
Why the waterfall is there
The Belt Supergroup argillite that gives Redrock Falls its name is over a billion years old — one of the oldest exposed sedimentary rocks in the Rocky Mountains. The red color comes from iron oxidation in the original shallow seabed.
