Superior Falls is a 90-foot plunge on the Montreal River where it forms the Wisconsin-Michigan border, just before emptying into Lake Superior at Oronto Bay. Access is via Xcel Energy's hydroelectric property — a short 0.4-mile trail leads to a viewpoint overlooking the gorge. Park at the power station off WI-122, 14 miles west of Ironwood, MI. Trail is short but steep and uneven; sturdy shoes recommended. One of the few waterfalls in the country where you can be in two states at once.
Superior Falls is a waterfall situated on the Montreal River, which forms the border between Iron County, Wisconsin and Gogebic County, Michigan, United States. The falls drop 90 feet (27 m) before the Montreal River empties into Lake Superior at Oronto Bay.
